Help Wanted

With such a large database there is always work that needs to get done. If you have the time and would like to help us fill in the various missing pieces of information, I will try to create a variety of reports that you can use. If you have a specific project in mind and dont see a report here that would help you, just let us know and we can try to create a specialized report for you.

Here are many reports that show various info on data that is incomplete.

Children born within 9 months
This list shows children within a family where one child is born within 9 months of another. This error usually appears because of an typo error for a childs' date of birth. But it may also be that the child was adopted and that notation is not in the file. If you have a correction or explanation for any of these, please let us know.

BONKERS Data Sanity Check report
The 1FamilyTree database is checked regularly for potential problems that include valid dates and data irregularities.
There are certainly errors in a database of this size, however we are extremely proud that we pass so many tests without finding any errors.
We avail ourselves of various kinds of data checking, one of which is the "Bonkers" Sanity Check.

Thanks to Tim Forsythe for all of his great genealogy tools!

Want to help us prepare for attaching the Census records?

Do you have a subscription to Ancestry.com.?

Eventually, we would like to have each instance of a person recorded in the census records to be linked to that census image, so you can better vizualize what the household they lived in was like.
You can already see many person have census events already attached to their records. But what I was not collecting, when attaching the text details of a family in the census, was the browser URL address.
Actually we only need a part of the URL, which tells us which census year, which census page, and which line that family starts on.
Here is a URL for an Appleton 1900 Census Image for Mary (O'Connell) Femal.
http://interactive.ancestry.com/7602/004120634_00171/73874929?backurl=http%3a%2f%2fsearch.ancestry.com%2f%2fcgi-bin%2fsse.dll%3fdb%3d1900usfedcen%26h%3d73874929%26indiv%3dtry%26o_vc%3dRecord%3aOtherRecord%26rhSource%3d7884&ssrc=&backlabel=ReturnRecord
Census Image

But all that we need is 7602/004120634_00171/
The 7602 tells us this is the US 1900 Census,
then the 004120634_00171/ tells us that it is Wisconsin, Outagamie, Appleton, ED 69 Page 11 A.

Census Image

So by having the reference of 7602/004120634_00171/ and then the line number 37 in the event record for Mary Femal in the 1900 Census, we can always link to the correct image.
This project is going to divided into two parts. First we will just collect the page info for each page and use that as our index file.
Just cut and paste the section of the URL into the First Column on the spreadsheet on the corresponding line for the Place and page you are looking at.

Census Index

And then also add the page starting line number and page ending line number. Not all pages start with Line number 1.
The page following our example in the 1900 Appleton Census ED 69 Page 11b starts with line number 51 and ends with line 100.

Part two will come later when we actually add in the line numbers, thereby connecting the event record in our database to the image.

I have a excell spreadsheet on my Google Drive account that I can share with you if you would like to help me fill in these image numbers. Contact Us

Thank You for any help you can provide in correcting or adding to the 1FamilyTree database.
