Thomas Arlo Callahan, 58, Janesville, died Saturday, April 29, 2006, at ho me. He was born on April 26, 1948, in Appleton, WI, and was the son of Ar lo and Adele (Vandenberg) Callahan. Thomas has been a Janesville reside nt since 1972. He married Lorraine Nelson in 1970 and later married Barba ra Noll on Nov. 30, 1991, in Janesville. Thomas was employed for 31 yea rs by Rock County Human Services, where he served as the Supervisor of t he Foster Care Program. He retired from Rock County Human Services in 200 3. Thomas was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and active in J anesville Youth Baseball. He was an avid Long Distance Runner, sports f an and enjoyed traveling and bicycling. Thomas was a tireless advoca te in the effort to cure cancer. Most of all Thomas enjoyed spending ti me with his family, especially his grandson, Luke.He is survived by his wife, Barbara; three sons, Patrick (Pawn) Callaha n, Milwaukee, WI, Corey (Jassica) Callahan and Ryan Callahan both of Janes ville; grandson, Luke; two sisters, Mary Ellen (Steve) Schlough, Madison a nd Lee Ann (Lawrence) Lord, Spring Grove, IL; three brothers; Steve (Carl a) Callahan, Menasha, WI, Jeff (Julie) Callahan, Appleton, WI and Mike (Ja nn) Callahan, Neenah, WI; special Aunt, Joan Murphy, Madison; nieces, neph ews, others relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Patrick.Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at St. Jo hn Vianney Catholic Church, with Fr. Donn Heiar presiding. Interment wi ll be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p. m. at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME.
