  Matzke, Leona Mae (Cad y)Leona Mae (Cady) Matzke, 77, De Pere, passed away Thursday July 13, 200 6, at home after a short and courageous battle with cancer. She was born December 21, 1928 in De Pere to the late Harry and Mae (Girard) Cady. Leo na married the late Robert J. Matzke on November 27, 1947, who was her bel oved husband of 56 years.She is survived by her five children: Dianna (Jack) Kersten, De Pere; Robe rt (Kathy) Matzke, Hortonville; Jeffrey (Terry) Matzke, De Pere; Kirk (Ly nn Rose), De Pere; Debbie (Joel) Butz, De Pere; a proud grandmother to: Jo hn (Geralyn), Steve (Kim) and Mitch (Carri) Kersten, Monica (David) Lewi s, Andy Matzke, Tara (Matt) Kerscher, Nikol (fiance Mike Waters) Matzke, D anielle (fiance Klay Konrad) Matzke, Amber, Carmen and Katrina Tomlinso n, Brock Matzke, Stephanie (Bill) Schmitt, Dan, Tom and Suzanne Butz; al so a proud great-grandmother: to Alli, Nate, Sammy, Max, Ricky, Heather, C onnor, Brooke, Nichole, Cecilia, TJ, Collin, Baylee, Chase and pending ba by Lewis. Leona is survived by her two sisters: Millie (Norb) Roels, De Pe re; Marie (Francis) Vanden Heuvel, De Pere.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers: Tom a nd Jiggs Cady, and one sister Martha Mooren.Mom loved spending time with family and friends. She will be missed more t han words can express. Mom loved to go up north, fishing, horseback ridin g, playing dominos, sharing meals and so much more. Mom's love of life w as exemplified by her giving to family and friends, her cooking, hand pain ted cards, fresh breads, fish fries, constant help in time of need...her l ove. She defined mother, grandmother and friend.Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, 2006, at the RYAN FU NERAL HOME, 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere. A prayer service will be he ld at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue after 9:30 a.m. on Monday, July 1 7, 2006 at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, corner of Lourdes Avenue a nd Suburban Drive, De Pere until the time of service. A mass of Christi an Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Conrad Kratz O.Praem o fficiating. Burial will be in the Lawrence Cemetery.
