  Lila Mae Dorshner, Menasha, age 89, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, went to her eternal home on Thursday, March 15, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer. Lila was born March 6, 1918, in Appleton, daughter of the late Edwin and Lydia (Erdman) Petznick. She graduated from Appleton High School in 1936. Lila was to attend Lawrence Conservatory of Music, but after meeting William Dorshner Sr. while roller skating, she made wedding plans. They were married on June 15, 1940. He preceded her in death on February 23, 1973. Lila and Bill were charter members of St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Menasha. She loved music, traveling and NASCAR. She is survived by a son, William (Jeanne Laux) Dorshner, Jr., Menasha; a daughter, Phylis Halverson, Menasha; a granddaughter, Wendy Halverson, Green Bay; two step-grandchildren, Cheri Moore and Vicki (John) Couthard; two sisters: Ruth Bevers, Little Chute; Elaine (Elmer) Schultz, Sioux Falls, SD; two sisters-in-law: Marian Petznick, Menasha; Josephine Haack, Oshkosh; and a brother-in-law, Raymond (Donna) Dorschner. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. Lila was preceded in death by a sister, Sally (Art) Vandenberg; a brother, Newell; her in-laws: Lawrence (Janet) Dorschner, Theodore Dorschner, Clarence (Enid) Dorschner, Albert (Jean) Dorschner. Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2007, at Menasha's Westgor Funeral Home, with Rev. David Skarsten officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 4 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established. The family would like to thank the staff of Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center, the nurses on 5 Center at Theda Clark and Dr. Curtis Baltz and his staff.
