  Harold Abel 105 E. State Street Black Creek Age 83, died Saturday evening, October 14, 2000, at Appleton Medical Center. He was born June 6, 1917, in the Town of Cicero, son of the late William and Leischen (Ebel) Abel. On May 29, 1948, he was united in marriage to Rosetta Brandt in Black Creek. Harold was owner and operator of Brandt Implement since 1958. He was a World War II Army Sergeant and a member of the Black Creek American Legion and a Charter member of the Seymour VFW. Harold was a member of the Black Creek Fire Department for over 40 years and was one of the original Black Creek EMTs. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Black Creek, where he was active in the church, serving on the council and was a past parish president. He served on three cemetery boards and was a member of the Black Creek Advancement Association. Harold was honored as Black Creek citizen of the year. He is survived by his wife, Rosetta. A son and daughter-in-law, Kent and Valerie, Black Creek. One granddaughter, Leisha. His brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roy and Elaine Brandt, Black Creek; Marion Freemore, Seymour; Shirley (Roger) Habeck, Seymour. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Carl, and three brothers, Lester, Vernon, and Le Roy. Friends may call at the Muehl- Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ, Black Creek, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of services with the Rev. Jan Davis officiating.
