Margaret Hietpas Peeters, age 77, died unexpectedly on Thursday, October 30, 2014. Margaret was born in Little Chute to her parents Elizabeth Vanden Heuvel and John C. Hietpas. She graduated from St. John High School and Fox Valley Technical College in the Nursing program. Margaret married Carl Peeters in 1959 and they raised 5 children. She was a loved mother, girl scout leader, served on the Fox Valley Symphony board, volunteered many hours through Thrivent Financial were she was a Senior Life Underwriter. She was also a docent at Bergstrom Art Center and a religious education teacher. She enjoyed their cottage on Legend Lake for 42 years and traveled to Holland, Germany, Switzerland, London, Paris, Austria, Belgium, Mexico, Ireland, Canada and Victoria Island. Margaret was an avid reader and passed her love of reading onto her children and grandchildren. Margaret loved her children and grandchildren deeply and always kept her heart open for the less fortunate. She is survived by her husband of 55 years Carl; her children: Liz (Pete) Spaeth, Chris(Lois) Peeters, Michael (Lita) Peeters, Jane Bons, Margaret(Peggy) Weber; grandchildren: Katie and Jon Spaeth, Christopher, David, Timothy and Joshua Peeters, Carly Peeters and Storm Ness, Alex and Casey Bons, Rachael, Nathan, Meagan, and Rebekah Weber; sisters: Clare (Lee) Van Boxtel, Sheila(Clyde) Schepp; brothers: John (Shirley) Hietpas, Luke (Rosie) Hietpas, Mark (Linda) Hietpas, Tom (Sheila) Hietpas, Mike (Jo) Hietpas; sisters-in-law: Darlene (Mike) Bevers, Joyce Egan, Lois Hietpas, brothers-in-law: Russell Harmon, Tom (Lin) Peeters; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by siblings: Don (Dorothy) Hietpas, Mary Joyce (Emmet) McMorrow, June (Bob) Stuyvenberg, Helen Harmon, Claude Hietpas; sister-in-law: Evelyn Hietpas; and infant brother Matthew Hietpas. A memorial service and celebration of Mag's life will be held at APPLETON ALLIANCE CHURCH (2693 W. Grand Chute Blvd. Appleton) on Tuesday, November 4 with visitation beginning at 10am until time of service at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers Margaret requests that donations be made to the St. John Food Pantry and the Little Chute Performing Arts program at Little Chute High School.
