Certificate Number 019424; On 10 SEP 1941 he enlisted at Milwaukee, Milwaukee Co., WI; he was listed as single; 4 years of high school, and semiskilled occupation in manufacture of paper and pulp (which coincides with his occupation in the 1940 US Census for father David Porter, in Kimberly, Outagamie County, WI. He was as a Staff Sgt. in the U. S. Army Air Command during WWII; I saw somewhere that in 1950 the family was living in Mexico City, Mexico, but I have no PROOF. After his term of service ended, the family returned to Appleton, Outagamie Co., WI. After the death of his first wife, Rebecca "Becky" Gochnauer Porter, David Porter married Ruth Sieg in Waupaca, Waupaca County, WI. (WI Marriage Index, 1973-1997); David J. Porter on 08 July 1980, listed as age 62 (born 1918) to Ruth Sieg, age 62 (1918) in WI. Certificate No. 013554). Ruth Sieg was born 09 June 1918 in Appleton, Outagamie County, WI., daughter of Edward Albert Johann Sieg a/k/a Edward Albert Sieg and Minnie Defferding.
