  Watchman Is Found Dead In Toy Plant Firemen Find Body of August Mauthe, 67, Kimber1y BLAZE IN FACTORY Autopsy Will be Held to Determine Cause Of Death August Mauthe, 67, Kimberly, was found dead by firemen answering an alarm from the Appleton Toy and Furniture factory, 828 S. Lawe street, about 4:25 this morning. Mauthe, watchman at the factory, was found in the shavings bin of the boiler room where the fire started. The fire burned from the fire box to the bin and a hole was burned through the bin door, according to firemen. The man's right hand was slightly burned and there was a small bruise on his head. His time clock showed he had made his round of the plant at 3:30 in the morning. The fire was discovered by a passerby, Anton Schmidt. 317 S. Walter avenue, who notified the fire department. The plant's sprinkling system was set off by the blaze and the fire was almost extinguished when fire arrived. Damage of about $75 was caused. Autopsy A pathologist from Milwaukee was expected here this afternoon to perform a post mortem examination to determine cause of death. Mauthe was born June 17. 1871. at Appleton and was a resident of Kimberly for 55 years. He was a charter member of the Holy Name society of the Holy Name church. Kimberly. and a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, Little Chute, and Equitable Reserve association, Neenah. He was employed at the toy company for 14 years. Survivors are four sons. Otto and Raymond, Kimberly: Chester, Appleton; William, Chicago; one daughter, Mrs. Jerry Kokke, Detroit, Mich.; three brothers, William, Fond du Lac; Joseph, Apple- Ion; Otto, Otsege. Mich.; two sisters. Mrs. Marie Bechaud, Fond du Lac; Mrs. Ed Wiley, Ontario, Canada; and twenty-one grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 8:30 Saturday morning from the home with services at 9 o'clock at the Holy Name church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The body will be at the home from Thursday until time of the funeral and the rosary will be recited at 7:30 each evening.
