  Edward C. Sonnleitner, 87, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2010 at The Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. Edward was born on September 30, 1923 to Charles and Agnes (Nowak) Sonnleitner in Appleton. He married Hazel Nehring on February 7, 1946. Edward served in the US Marine Corps during WWII and received a purple heart after being wounded on Sipan. He worked as a truck driver for Wisconsin Distributing Company until his retirement in the early 80's. Ed was a Life long member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a member of the South Side Athletic Club, the Genesis Club and VFW Post 2778. Edward is survived by his son Charles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his son, Michael Sonnleitner, and his brothers; Carl, Harold, Rollie, Frank, Joe, Otto, Larry and sisters; Helen and Mary. A Mass of Christian Burial for Ed will be held on Friday, October 15, 2010 at 11:00 AM at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH (222 E. Fremont St. Appleton). Friends may call on Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of services at the Church. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Wichmann Funeral Home 537 N.
