  Helen M. (Hemauer) Schumacher, age 91, of Stockbridge died on November 19, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. She was born on September 21, 1917, in Stockbridge, daughter of the late George & Mabel (Kenney) Hemauer. She married Clement A. Schumacher on November 28, 1940, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Stockbridge. Together they owned and operated Hemauer's General Store in Stockbridge until retirement in 1978 when they became winter residents of Sun City Center, FL. Helen was very active in the Stockbrige community where she was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Christian Ladies Society and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #128. Survivors include her children: Jean Patenaude of Plymouth, Ann (Norbert) Gilles of Stockbridge, Thomas (Kathleen) Schumacher of Stockbridge, Richard (Merryle) Schumacher of Stockbridge, Marilyn (Tom) Behnke of Stockbridge; eleven grandchildren: Amy (Gary) Schmidt, Jennifer (Craig) Morris, David (Angela) Patenaude, Molly (Matt) Arndt, Jason Schumacher, Anna Schumacher, Stephanie Behnke and friend Jason, Brian Schumacher, Matt Schumacher, Jeff Schumacher, William Blackburn, nine great-grandchildren: Clare, Luke, Alex, Connor, Ben, Sarah, Matt, Zoe, & Alexis; a sister: Jean Eldred of Appleton; a brother-in-law: Alvin (Etta) Schumacher of Neenah, Nieces, nephews, & lifelong friend: Bernita Schroven. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers: Paul Hemauer, Carl Hemauer, Miles Hemauer, a baby brother; a son-in-law: Dr. William F. Patenaude, a brother-in-law: Wallace Eldred; and a sister-in-law: Adeline (Larry) Schuh. Funeral services will be at 12 noon on Saturday, November 22, 2008, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge with the Rev. Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep officiating. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 AM until 12 noon on Saturday, November 22, 2008, when services will be held. The entire family would like to extend their thanks to Diane Zahringer, ARC Angels Residential Home Care and the staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital for their care and concern.
