  Translation: Heinrich Franz, an early settler of Appleton, died on Sunday at the home of his son-in-law Henry Schimberg in the [hour of 4 a.m.?]. The deceased reached the age of 84. He came here in 1854 and built the first frame house - which is now used as St. Elizabeth hospital building - in the 4th Ward. Mr. Franz, who was born at the Belgium and Luxembourg border, was a good, generally respected and popular citizen. By his wife he was preceded in death several years ago. Two daughters, Mrs. Schimberg and Mrs. Haue, both residing here, mourn his passing. The funeral took place on Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at the Sacred Heart church. May he rest in peace
