Fritsch, Gerald L. Gerald "Jerry" L. Fritsch, 69, Menasha, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Sunday morning, Jan. 31, 2010, following a brave battle with cancer. Jerry was born in Appleton, on March 9, 1940, to son of the late Howard and Olive (Lingnowski) Fritsch. Jerry grew up on a large farm in Menasha, with his mom, dad and brother, Wayne. On June 15, 1963, Jerry was married to the love of his life, Mary Sell, and together they raised three sons, Jeff, Mike and Rob. Jerry served in the military, was a police officer, worked at the water department and operated his own business during his life. Jerry, most of all, had a big heart and a great sense of humor. He loved woodworking and anything to do with guns, collecting, reloading and shooting. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jerry loved and was proud of his three granddaughters, Chelsea, Nicole and Alairyse. Jerry enjoyed spending time with his two yellow labs, Bud and Molly. Jerry is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary; his three sons, Jeff (Joell) Fritsch, and their children, Chelsea and Nicole, Larsen; Michael Fritsch, Rio Rancho, N.M.; and Robert Fritsch, Menasha, and his daughter, Alairyse; a brother, Wayne (Jean) Fritsch, Waupaca; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his close friend and cousin, Roger Rippl. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 528 Second Street, Menasha. Fr. Larry Canavera and Fr. Paul Radetski will officiate. A Memorial Gathering will be held at 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Jerry's name. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to David Dudek, for being such a wonderful friend and neighbor.
