  Dennis Hietpas, 64, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2006, at Brewster Village, Appleton, after a brief illness. He was born May 5, 1942, in Little Chute son of William P. and Margaret (Verhagen) Hietpas. Dennis lived at home on the farm in Van Den Broek enjoying his family until 1992, when he moved to Agape 3 in Kaukauna where he met the great friends that became his second family. He was employed at Valley Packaging until March of this year. Dennis loved music, dancing and enjoyed playing his harmonica, accordion and guitar. He traveled with his special sisters Betty and Margie and friends on Lamers Tour Bus. His wonderful sense of humor touched many lives. He was also an avid Packer fan and personal fan of Brett Favre. Mr. Hietpas was a former member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute. Dennis is survived by his brothers: Paul Hietpas, Rochester, MN; Owen and Irene Hietpas, Leesburg, FL; Mark and Gladys Hietpas, Little Chute; sister, Margaret Hietpas, Appleton; sister-in-law, Irene Hietpas, Little Chute; brother-in-law, Bill Mattern and special friend Sandra, Menasha; many nieces, nephews and his very special friend and Agape brother, Bob. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Arthur and William Hietpas; sisters and brothers-in-law: Patricia and Bud Tatro, Bernice and Ted Larson, Betty and Casey Vander Sanden; sister, Shirley Mattern; sisters-in-law, Ethel, Yvonne and Ruth Hietpas. Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, October 16, 2006, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Rev. James Hablewitz officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Friends may call at the church from 3 p.m. Monday until the time of the mass. A memorial has been established. A very special thank you to the wonderful caregivers at Agape for the excellent care and friendship shared over the years and also to the nursing staff at Brewster Village, Atrium 2 who took special care of Dennis the last few months of his life.
