  Gene L. Mielke, 65, of Nichols, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 at his home. He was born August 30, 1951 a son of the late Nathan and Marian (Brugger) Mielke. Gene was a truck driver for many years, having drove for Scott Marcks Trucking and Murphy's Concrete Construction. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles and being outdoors. Gene is survived by his sister, Debra Mielke of California and his brother, Chris Mielke of California. He is further survived by his aunt, Mickey (Don) Hartlaben of Bear Creek, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother, Richard (Sherry) Mielke. A memorial service for Gene will take place at a later date. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, is assisting the family with arrangements.
