  One of the sad deaths of the week was that of Mrs. William Dorschel which occurred at St. Vincent's hospital at Green Bay, Thursday morning, Jan. 20th. Mrs. Dorschel had been in poor health for the past two years although few except herself knew that she was not well. In her unselfishness, not wishing to worry her family, she kept her troubles to herself and they were surprised, indeed, a few months ago when they learned of the seriousness of her condition. The disease which caused her death and which was of a cancerous nature did not fully develop until about six weeks ago. On December 20th she was taken to St. Vincent's hospital at Green Bay for treatment. The physician in charge found that she was too weak for an operation and she was also too weak to be removed to her home. She remained at the hospital where every care was given her but she failed rapidly until the end came on Thursday morning, just one month from the day she entered the hospital. Louise Rothmann Dorschel was born in the town of Calumet, Fond du Lac County, March 15, 1845, being the daughter of the late Michael Rothmann, one of the pioneers of that town. She was married in 1866 to Wm. Dorschel at Calumet and came to this city in 1874 where she had since made her home. She was a bright intellectual woman, companionable and kind, whose name was associated with every charitable movement in the town. Her helpfulness to her neighbors and universal generosity made her many friends who esteemed her highly and who are deeply grieved at her sudden illness and death. In her family she was an ideal wife and mother, subserving her own pleasure and comfort to that of her husband and children and giving the best that was in her for their betterment and advancement. The remains were brought to her home in this city from Green Bay Friday morning. The funeral will be held this Saturday, forenoon from St. Mary's church, with interment in St. Mary's cemetery. She is survived by a husband, one son, O. L. Dorschel of Wausau, three daughters, Mrs. G. N. Kersten of Oakland, California, Mrs. G. E. Dubois of Green Bay and Mrs. Geo. A. Schumaker of Spokane, Wash., also by three brothers, Wm. Rothmann of this city and Philip and Aug. Rothmann who reside in the west and three sisters, Mrs. Caroline Schroeckenstein of Omaha, Nebr., Mrs. Frank Burg of Calumet, and Mrs. H. C. Wippermann of Chicago.
