  Geraldine J. Withagen, age 79, died peacefully on Monday, July 29, 2013 at Oakridge Gardens Care Center in Menasha. Geraldine was born on March 9, 1934 in Appleton. She is the daughter of the late Joseph and Octavia (Dandois) Ciha. She was a 1952 graduate of Seymour High School. Geraldine was employed with Neenah Paper for 25 years and was a faithful member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, knitting, crocheting and reading. Geraldine is lovingly survived by her two daughters, Barbara (Joseph) Ciske, Menasha; Beth DeWall and her fiancé Mark Meldrum, Appleton; her grandson, Samuel DeWall, Appleton; a sister, Virginia Van Iten, Green Bay; a brother, Herman Ciha, Appleton; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Withagen in 1989, and a daughter, Bonnie Paalman in 1995, a sister Gladys and brother-in-law Vernon Jochman, a sister-in-law, Rita Ciha and a brother-in-law, Alden Van Iten. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Valley Funeral Home with Rev. William Hoffman officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton. Geraldine's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until the time of service. A memorial fund is being established in her name.
