  Violet M. Geiser, age 95, of Chilton, died on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Century Ridge in Chilton. She was born September 28, 1917 in St. Nazianz, daughter of the late Frank & Matilda (Schwartz) Wagner. Violet married Clarence Kress on June 14, 1938 in Cleveland, WI; he preceded her in death on December 9, 1943. She later married Alois Joseph Geiser on May 3, 1947 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz; he preceded her in death on June 7, 2008. Violet was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, a former member of the Daughters of Isabella, the Christian Women, and the Calumet County Homemakers. Violet was a woman of many talents. Her quilting and baking were legendary and she raised a large garden to help feed her entire family. Violet's needlepoint was meticulous and she sewed all of her own clothes and the clothes of her children. There was rarely a dull moment in Violet's life and since she was the boss and the crew on the farm, a lot of her time was spent keeping Alois in line. She did, however, devote some of her free time to remembering her children's names which came in handy if one was found goofing off. Violet was a true matriarch always tending to the needs of others before her own. She was the driving force behind all that her family was and they will certainly miss her living presence with them. Survivors include her children: Elmer (Barbara) Wagner of Plymouth, Robert (Janet) Kress of Chilton, Lucille (Jerry) Hauser of Chilton, Ann Marie (Conrad) Kopitzke of Brillion, George (Nita) Geiser of Chilton, Gerald (Shirley) Geiser of Eagle River, James (Phyllis) Geiser of Chilton, Joseph (Pauline) Geiser of Chilton, Diane (Jim) Kasper of Three Lakes, Rita (Glen) Pingel of Chilton, Liz (Dan) Herms of Random Lake, Peter (Debbie) Geiser of Chilton; a daughter-in-law: June Geiser of Chilton; 33 grandchildren; 57 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and 3 sisters-in-law: Alvina Wagner, Hildegard Geiser, & Veronica Wagner. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands: Clarence Kress & Alois Geiser; a child: Tom Geiser; 3 grandchildren: Gary, Amy & Christopher; and all of her siblings. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, June 10, 2013 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton with the Rev. Bob Kollath and Al Geiser officiating. Entombment will be in the Knollwood Mausoleum in Manitowoc. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Sunday, June 9, 2013 and on Monday at the church from 9:30 am until 10:30 am. A Parish Vigil service will take place Sunday evening at the funeral home at 7:00 pm. Memorials are appreciated in the name of Violet M. Geiser.
