  John T. Krull "Grandpa Johnny" Nichols Age 92, died Thursday at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Seymour. He was born August 1, 1908, in the Cicero Township, son of the late Herman and Hattie (Hilliker) Krull. He was married to Luella Gottschalk on December 1, 1928. She preceded him in death in 1955. John farmed in Cicero Township and later worked for the Nichols Co-op. He retired in 1975. His love of baseball gave him 30 years of playing on the Nichols team and was a fan for many more years. He sponsored "Grandpa Johnny's" softball team for several years in the 1980's. In 1998 the Nichols baseball diamond was named Krull Field in his honor. He took an active part as a member of his church and served on the council for 44 years. He is survived by five sons, Earl S. (Alvina), Milwaukee; Jim (Virginia), Appleton; Jack (Dorothy), Bonduel; Terry (Shirley), Bonduel; Rodney (Ruthie), Mercer; a daughter, Audrey (Robert) Moeller, Black Creek; 19 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mary Krull and Lorraine Gottschalk, both of Appleton. He was preceded in death by his wife; a daughter, a son, a grandson and special neighbors and friends, Melvin and Florence Staple, Nichols. Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Trinity United Church of Christ, Leeman, from 9:30 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. with the Rev.
