  Catherine "Cathy" Mary Rossmeissl, 64, of Lake McMurray died on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was the wife of Matt Rossmeissl, with whom she shared 44 years of marriage. Born in Appleton, Wisconsin, on March 1, 1950, she was the daughter to John and Joan Schultz. She graduated from Appleton West High School in 1968, and attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She was married to Matt on August 1, 1970, and they moved to the beautiful Skagit Valley in 1980, where they raised their two children, Molly and Jeffrey. She spent many years working at Pacific Quarry in Mt. Vernon, later working with her close-knit group of coworkers at The Language Exchange in Burlington, WA. Known for her infectious smile and her love of life, she was a fiery redhead and a total sports nut who loved seeing her Seahawks win the Super Bowl. She was extremely giving, from helping her dear friends in need to making frequent donations to those she didn't know but read about in the newspaper. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, taking peddle boat rides on her lake (McMurray), home improvement projects, politics, travel, a good beer and candy bars. She was an extremely loving wife, daughter, mother and grandmother and will be forever in our hearts. She is survived by her husband, Matt Rossmeissl of Mt. Vernon; daughter, Molly (Ryan) Hernandez of Berkeley, CA; son, Jeffrey Rossmeissl of Seattle, WA; parents, John and Joan Schultz of Appleton, WI; grandchildren, Jack and Lucy Hernandez; brothers, Mark Schultz, New York City and Mike Schultz (Julie), Arbor Vitae, WI; sisters-in-law, Carole (Jerry) Smaglik of Port Washington, WI; and Susan (Michael) Shaw of Tustin, CA. She is preceded in death by infant daughter, Sarah; sister, Barbara Borkowski and sister-in-law, Marie "Mutzie" Rossmeissl. At Cathy's request, the celebration of life will be a private event for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Skagit Valley Hospital Foundation Cancer Fund, P.O.
