  John T. Schultz, age 87, of Appleton, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, December 1, 2015, at Appleton Medical Center. John was born August 27, 1927, in Appleton, the son of the late Harold "Butch" and Hazel (O'Connell) Schultz. He attended St. Therese Grade School and graduated with the class of 1946 from Appleton West High School, where he lettered in track and football. John was an Army Veteran, serving in Japan. A member of the "F" Troop 7th Regt. of the 1st Cavalry Division (Custer's old outfit). He also played on the Division Football Team. On October 27, 1948, he married Joan Mary Wisneski in Appleton, where they resided and raised their family. John was employed by Albany International Paper Company in Menasha, retiring after 43 years of service. John was a Packer fan and he and Joan enjoyed many wonderful years traveling together. He was a member of Appleton American Legion Post 38. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Joan Schultz; sons, Michael (Julie) Schultz and Mark Schultz; grandchildren, Molly, Jeffrey, Lindsey, Whitney, Courtney, Adam, Sam and Brad; and several great-grandchildren. John is further survived by his sons-in-law, Winston Borkowski and Matt Rossmeissl; brothers, Daniel and Thomas Schultz; brothers-in-law, Thomas and Robert Wisneski; sister-in-law, Patricia Stelow; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Harold and Hazel Schultz, John was preceded in death by his daughters, Cathy Rossmeissl and Barbara Borkowski; granddaughters, Sara and Christie; and father & mother-in-law, Joseph and Florence Wisneski. Family and friends may call on Monday, December 7, from 10:30 a.m., at the Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond Street, Appleton. A short service in Celebration of John's Life will be held at 11:30 a.m., with Deacon Rick Simon officiating. Military Honors will be held following the Celebration of Life. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Appleton.
