  Helen M. Van Den Heuvel, of Appleton, age 88, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2006, at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center in Menasha. Helen was born December 23, 1917, in Darboy, daughter of the late Frank and Mathilda Kemkes. She married Martin Van Den Heuvel on June 28, 1943, and he preceded her in death on July 2, 1989. Helen is survived by two sisters, Adeline Kniece, and Dolores (Dallas) Curtis, a brother, John (Shirley) Kemkes, four Godchildren: John, Tom, Irene, and Debbie, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Norman (Ida) Kemkes, Marie (William) Van Handel, Lawrence (Mary) Kemkes, Anna (John) Van Den Heuvel, Agnes (Eugene) Wieseckel, Clara (Richard) Kilgas, Joseph and Lester Kemkes, Margaret (George) Leyen, a brother-in-law, Clarence Kneice, and a sister-in-law, Theresa Kemkes. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church, 1810 North McDonald St., Appleton, with Rev. Fr. Gerald Falk officiating. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Helen's name. Most beautiful of all was Helen herself, her kindness and goodness. All who knew Helen loved her.
