  Orville A. Stephani, age 93, of Houghton, MI and formerly of Manitowoc, passed away Tuesday January 7, 2014 at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock, MI, where he had resided for the past 3 years. He was born on March 3, 1920 in Manitowoc, son of the late Peter & Elizabeth (Pautz) Stephani. Orville was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1938. Orville was a veteran having served with the Coast Guard during World War II. On April 26, 1941 he was united in marriage to the former Lucille Brunner and she preceded him in death on April 1, 1999. Since that time Orville has lived in Houghton, MI and then 3 years with his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Ron Curran. Orville worked as a machinist for Hamilton Manufacturing in Manitowoc, retiring in 1985. Survivors include his children: Sharon (Ron) Curran, Houghton, MI; Edward Stephani, Iron Mountain, MI; Jerry (Mary) Stephani, Brookfield, WI; Susan (David) Bubb, Manitowoc; Mary Prantil, Healdsburg, CA; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other cousins and friends also survive. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; his brother and sister-in-law: Arnold (Helen) Stephani; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Jane (Walter) Kaufman; Irene (Arland) Matthias; Dave (Agnes) Brunner; Marie (Edmund) Welch; Gerald Brunner; Louis (Marie) Brunner. At Orville's request, no services will be held and burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc at a later date. The Memorial Chapel & Plowe Funeral Homes have been assisting the family with the arrangements.
