  Gordon E. Papenfus 115 Professional Plaza, Neenah Age 77, passed away Sunday, August 15, 1993 at Vallhaven Care Center, Neenah. He was born March 29 1916 in Little Suamico to the late Franklin and Ora (Thome) Papenfus. He married the former Dorothy Ellefson on October 26, 1940 in Green Bay. Gordon served his country in the Army during World War II and worked for many years as a self-employed and general maintenance painter and general maintenance worker in the Appleton area. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; three sons; Ebben (Karen) Kimberly; Franklin (Fran), Appleton; Dennis and his fiancée Kathy Johnson, Neenah; a daughter, Darlene (David) Manes, Greenville; two sisters: Gladys Janssen, Green Bay; Beatrice Johnstone, Milwaukee; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers-in law and sisters-in-law: Lloyd (Eva) Ellefson, Appleton; Norman (Gene) Ellefson, Appleton; Bernice (Clem) Gitter, Appleton; Myrtle (Russel) Krueger, Appleton; Herbert Kahler, Appleton; Gerry Ellefson, West Bend; many nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Allen in 1967, a sister, Ethel Mae Fieck and a brother, Eben Papenfus. Funeral services will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 17, 1993 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call Tues from 3 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
