Hensel, Harlan C. Harlan C. Hensel, 76, New London, died on Sunday, August 9, 2009, at his residence in the presence of his loving family following a brief illness. He was born on October 26, 1932, in New London, son of the late Charles and (Selma) Hensel. On March 28, 1964, he married Connie Brennenstuhl. Harlan was a resident of New London all his life. He worked in various jobs, however he was self-employed as a farmer and carpenter most of his life. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London. He is survived by his wife Connie; daughter, Sue (Alan) Gorges, New London; son Dave (Renee) Hensel, New London; five grandchildren; sister, Dorothy (Neil) Freeman, New London; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob (Darla) Poppy, New London; special friend Jim Ellison, New London; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister. The Christian Funeral for Harlan will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London. Burial will be in Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Lebanon. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Cline & Hanson Funeral Home 209 W.
