  Marjorie L. "Margie" Schmidt, age 79, of Gresham, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2010, in Shawano. Born on March 29, 1931, in Shawano, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Louise (Viergutz) Ringel. She was a graduate of Shawano High School. On May 21, 1952, she was united in marriage to Clyde Schmidt. Margie loved to bake and had a special talent for making molasses cookies, Blitz torte and kuchen. She adored her grandkids and great-grandkids and always had gummies around for them to snack on. Margie also enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and word finds, watching the birds, playing solitaire, scratch-off tickets, and flowers. She also loved collecting teacups, teapots and cows. Margie is survived by: her husband of 58 years, Clyde; nine children, Dennis (Dorine) of Tilleda, Dave (Karla) of Greenville, Danny of Gresham, Peggy (Dennis) Spanbauer of Oshkosh, Bonnie of Shawano, Kathy (Mark) Kroenke of Shawano, Kristy (Tim) Paiser of Gresham, Karen (John) Peters of Green Bay, Andy (Lori) of Gresham; 20 grandchildren, Kim Dillenburg, Jessa (Todd) Fandry, Shana (Ken) Carlson, Stephanie, Tomi and Hunter Schmidt, Nicholas (Kari), Nathan, Neil and Natalie Spanbauer, Casey Kroenke, Travis, Trevor and Amanda Paiser, Katie and Klarissa Peters, Ethan, Elizabeth, Eric and Eben Schmidt; and three great-grandchildren, Joseph Fandry and Jacob and Greyson Spanbauer. Margie is further survived by: three sisters, Dori Hammes of Gresham, Marilyn Rudesill of Shawano, Yvonne (Robert) Miller of Gresham; four sisters-in-law, Dorothy Ringel of Shawano, Hatti Pettis of Appleton, Joyce Reminger of Leopolis, Ruth Hoffman of Gresham; and two brothers-in-law, Keith Rudesill of Gresham and Louis (Jackie) Schmidt of Gresham; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends, Art and Rita Buelter. Margie was preceded in death by: her parents; two brothers, Russ Ringel, Victor Ringel; a sister, Philly Genskow; six brothers-in-law, Earl Pettis, George Hammes, John Reminger, Vernon Hoffman Sr., Herbert Genskow, Harvey Fuhrman; two sisters-in-law, Maxine Fuhrman, Pearl Ringel; and granddaughter, Jamie Schmidt. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 29, 2010, at the St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church in Gresham with the Rev. Robert Rank officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. and at the church on Monday after 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
