  Alice L. Baumann, age 93, of Chilton, died on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at the Libby House in Chilton. She was born May 12, 1917, in Chilton, daughter of the late Alvin and Ada (Klumb) Baumann. Following her father's retirement, Alice continued to operate the Baumann-Jensen Shoe Store in Chilton for nearly 50 years. She was a lifetime member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ, and enjoyed walking and gardening. After her own retirement, she took great pleasure in traveling the world with her late brother, Alfred, and his wife, Eleanor, and the many friends she traveled with. Alice was a kind, caring person whose patience and wisdom was an invaluable resource to those that knew her. She loved to be around people and took every opportunity to join in conversation or bake cookies for friends and loved ones. Survivors include her niece: Karen MacKinnon of London, Ontario, Canada; a grand-nephew: Christopher Peterson; a grand-niece: Angela Price; two great grand-nephews: Andrew Price and Ashton Peterson. She is further survived by many close family friends, especially Nancy and Roger Brunsch, the Scherer family, Steve Dombrock family, Alice Kinley, Marie Mueller, Alice and Jim McNeely, and all those whose names were accidentally omitted; you have all touched Alice's life in a special way. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother: Alfred (Eleanor) Baumann. A celebration of Alice's life will take place at 12 Noon on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at the Central House of Chilton (321 E. Main St.) in Chilton with a time of food and fellowship to follow. Friends may gather at the Central House beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Memorials are appreciated in the name of Alice L. Baumann.
