Walker, Robert D., LTC, Robert D. Walker, LTC, U.S. Army (Retired) passed away suddenly on 18 April, 2011 in Woodbridge, VA. Robert was a graduate of Neenah High School. He graduated from St Norbert's College, Green Bay, WI, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. During his 22 years of service, he was assigned to numerous duties as an officer in units in Germany, Vietnam and Washington, DC. Following his retirement from the military, he worked as a consultant for many corporate industries as a security operations advisor. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Sharyn R. Walker in December 2010. He is survived by his sister, Colonel Rose Walker, U.S. Army (Ret) and Laura J. Walker of Appleton, WI. He is also survived by four nieces and a nephew. Services will be held at Arlington Cemetery in Washington, DC on 11 August 2011. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Robert's name may be made to charities focused on the prevention of animal cruelty, cancer prevention or civil war battlefield restorations. Arrangements are made by Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home in Dale City, VA. Published in Appleton Post-Crescent from August 9 to August 21, 2011
