  Pearl A. Bruns, 91, Chilton, passed away on Dec. 22, 2011, to spend her first Christmas in Heaven with her husband, Art. She was born April 8, 1920, in Charlestown, daughter of the late James and Julia (Boettcher) Cullen. She married Arthur Bruns on Nov. 22, 1947, in Charlestown. Pearl worked for the Leverenz Shoe Factory in New Holstein, for many years until retirement in 1982. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, formerly St. Augustine Parish. During her time at St. Augustine's, Pearl volunteered countless hours with the Christian Mothers, where she served numerous funeral dinners. Pearl was extremely proud of her Catholic Irish Heritage and certainly knew how to have a good time, but she also carried with her a strong work ethic. Farming, gardening and canning at home kept her busy while she raised her family. In her free time, Pearl would attend Thiel's auctions, where she purchased several antiques and collectibles. Above all other worldly blessings, Pearl treasured spending time with her family. Survivors include her three children, Colleen (Gene) Enneper, Chilton; Jim Bruns, Oregon; Sheila (George) Engel, Appleton; five grandchildren, Tina (Tony) Mueller, Tanya (Bob) Jumbeck, Shawn (Kayla) Enneper, Cadi, and Joey Engel; three great-grandchildren, Wil and Clare Jumbeck, and Dane Enneper; and a sister-in-law, Lucille Cullen, Chilton. Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Art; two brothers and two sisters. Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton, with the Rev. Bob Kollath officiating. Burial will be in the St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10 to 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011. The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Chilton Care Center for their loving care. Thank you also to Father Bob, Deacon Dennis, the staff of the Wieting Family Funeral Home, Dr. Tipler, and family and friends who offered untold support. Memorials are appreciated in the name of Pearl A. Bruns for the Alzheimer's Association . May the road rise to meet her; May the wind be always at her back; May the sun shine warm upon her face and the rains fall softly upon her fields.
