VanDenBerg, Loren P.Loren P. VanDenBerg, 81, Kewaunee died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004 at a Gre en Bay Hospital after an eight year battle with kidney dialysis. He was bo rn on July 30, 1922, to the late Peter and Elizabeth (Stoeveken) VanDenBe rg in Menominee, Mich. Loren graduated from Kewaunee High School with t he Class of 1941. He served in the 363rd Corps of Engineers, U.S. Army dur ing World War II in the Persian Golf (Iran) and also served in the Europea n, African and Middle East Thraters. He was awarded the Victory Meda l. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 3392, American Legion Post 29, Cathol ic Order of Foresters Ct. 1084 and a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Churc h. He was employed with the Corps of Engineers on the Tug Ludington and Cu mberland for 19 years.Survivors include three brothers and one sister-in-law, Jerrome VanDenBer g, Kaukauna; James and Pat VanDenBerg, Madison Wis.; and Dennis VanDenBer g, Kewaunee; six sisters and three brothers-in-law, Teresa and Clem Derenn e, Green Bay; Rose Duescher, Luxemburg; Rita VanDenBerg, Kewaunee; Ange la and Lloyd Paul, Oakdale, Minn.; Mercedes VanDenBerg, San Francisco, Cal if.; and Helen and Robert DeGrave, Green Bay; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by one brother, Allan VanDenBerg; one brother-in- law, Richard Duescher; a nephew, Charles Derenne; and a niece, Nancy Duesc her.Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaune e.
