  Mildred H. Wege, age 99, New London died on Wednesday, October 9, 2013. She was born on February 28, 1914, in the Town of Dale, daughter of the late Louis and Eda (Hoewisch) Glocke. In 1928, Mildred graduated 8th grade from Clover Leaf School in Dale. In 1932, she graduated from Hortonville High School as the class salutatorian. On June 14, 1942, she was united in marriage to Alvin Wege at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Hortonville. He preceded her in death in 1991. She worked at Falk Grocery Store in Hortonville and at St. Louis Grocery Store in New London and was employed at New London Family Medical Center for 25 years and was a member of the Auxiliary for several years. She is survived by her daughter Ann (Darnell) Hanke, New London; sons, David (Dorothy) Wege, Crystal Lake, IL; Ronald (Ann) Wege, New London. She is further survived by seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren: Michael (Sandra) Wege and their children Jack, Alex and Samuel, Lititz, PA; Barbara (Mark) Scheetz and their children, Clayton and Carlyn, Massillon OH; Todd Gagnow and daughter Autumne, New London Ryan (Nicole) Gagnow, and their daughter Grace, Menasha; Eric Gagnow, Appleton; Melissa (Joseph) Gerrits, and their children, Lucas and Tyler, New London; Zachary Baehman, Neenah; and Joel (Halina) Wege, Portland OR and also numerous nieces and nephews that she dearly loved. (Thank you Cindy Glocke for being her 'ice cream trip' niece these last few months. Also, Heather (Wege) Riehl, New London, to whom she was Grandma Wege, and Sally Brooks and Candy Morell, who were always in her heart.) She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Bernice (Herbert) Marasch, a brother and sister-in-law Gary and Amber Glocke of Oklahoma, her father and mother-in-law, Reinhardt and Hattie Wege, brothers-in-law and sisters in-law, Lane (Marie) Wege, Harvey (Erdine) Wege, a grandson Paul Gagnow and great grandson, Chase Gagnow. Funeral services for Mildred will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London with Rev. Marcus Schulz officiating. Burial will be in the Floral Hill Cemetery, New London. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service. We cannot thank the ladies at Trinity Terrace enough for the love, friendship and wonderful care they showered on Millie while she lived there these last 5 years. Our thanks also go out to Lori & Tanya from Heartland Hospice for helping to make mom's last days so comfortable. A memorial fund has been established.
