  Maas, Kenneth C. (Bud) Kenneth C. (Bud) Maas, Menasha, WI, passed away Sunday, June 29th, 2014 at Theda Clark Medical Center, following a lengthy battle with diabetes. Ken was born May 24th, 1921 in Menasha WI, to Clifford and Martha (Friedricks) Maas. He served his country in the Army during WWII <http://www.legacy.com/memorial-sites/ww2/?personid=171640906&affiliateID=2555> from 1942 to 1946 in the South Pacific. Ken married Phyllis Keapock of Menasha on June 28th, 1947 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He worked as an accountant for Sawyer Paper Company and Square D Corporation, retiring in 1983. He and Phyllis traveled for 15 years to Port Charlotte Florida during the winter months. They also visited many wonderful destinations throughout the world. His latest and greatest adventure was in October of 2013 when he traveled to Washington DC with his daughter, Ann on the old Glory Honor Flight to see the monument built in his honor. "It was a trip of a life time!", he would tell others. Ken's favorite pass times were: playing golf, cards (cribbage and sheepshead), watching the Green Bay Packers and telling stories of the, "Good Ole Days" in and around Menasha. Ken was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Menasha Elks. He is survived by his daughter Ann Maas / Scott Pennings and grand pets (Sophie, Peeps & Teddy) of Menasha; three sisters in-law: Marion Smits, Menasha; Bette (Doug) Crane, Menasha; Eileen Coonen, Merrill WI; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and close friends. Ken was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis of 65 years, his parents four sisters and 3 brothers in-law: Margret (Peg) and Otto (Ottie) Hoffman, Florence (Sissy) and Elton Beattie, Luella (Sally) and Luther Meyer, Lois (Toddles) Heckrodt, one Brother Harold (Tartar) Maas. Also his beloved Brittany Spaniels; Britt, Barney, Murray and Ginger. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday July 13th, 2014 at 12:30 pm at High Cliff Golf Course, W5095 Golf Course Rd., Sherwood WI on the Patio overlooking the 1st Tee, with Mary Krueger officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:30 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established. Ann and Scott would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to the staff and patients/residence at Fresenius Dialysis Center, Island Shores and Bridgewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the care and friendship they gave Ken.
