  Donald E. Ernst, 1712 S. Walden Avenue, age 47, passed away at 10:30 p.m. Wedneday following a lingering illness. He was born October 9, 1927 at Iron Mountain, Michigan and lived in Appleton most of his life. Mr. Ernst was employed at the American Can Corporation for 24 year, as a pipe fitter for 13 years. Survivors include his wife Helen, his father, Fred Ernst of Appleton; his mother, Mrs. Ann Bauercher of Greeley, Colorado, a daughter, Miss Karen, at home; a son, Dean at home; a sister, Mrs. Elsie Madden of Menasha; and a half sister, Mrs. Thurmond (Joyce) Doby of Route 1, Appleton. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Star of Hope Chapel with Rev. H. P. Hilgendorf officiating. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton, Friends may call at the Valley Funeral Home Friday from 4 until 9 p.m. and Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. 2/6/1975 Appleton Post Crescent page B-12
