  Sterling, IL - Ralph Joseph Griesbach, 93, a lifelong resident of Sterling, died Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN. He was employed as a Sales Professional for DeKalb Feed for 33 years, retiring in 1986. Ralph was born on May 22, 1920 in Mackville, WI, the son of John A. and Anna (Bissing) Griesbach. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Science degree. Ralph served in the United States Army Air Corps. He married Marianne V. (Van Abel) Griesbach on May 26th, 1950 in Hollandtown, Wisconsin. Ralph was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sterling. He was an avid golfer and a member and past president of Rock River Country Club. He enjoyed bowling and playing cards. He and Marianne enjoyed wintering in Naples, FL for over 20 years. Survivors include a son, William John (Gloria) Griesbach of Lake Forest, IL, two daughters, Lauri (Robert) Underkofler of Excelsior, MN and Margaret (William Kakish) Griesbach of Irvine, CA; and five grandchildren, Michael Thomas Underkofler, Brian Joseph Underkofler, Nicholas Ralph Griesbach, Jonathan Henry "Hank" Griesbach and Sarah Rose (Michael) Scolaro. He was preceded in death by his wife, four brothers and three sisters. Services will be held at 12 Noon Monday, September 30th, 2013 at St. Francis Catholic Church, Hollandtown, WI. Visitation will be from 11 to 12 Noon at the church, prior to the funeral mass at the church. A memorial has been established on behalf of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sterling, IL.
