  Schommer, Hazel A.Hazel A. Schommer, Little Chute, age 88, died at Parkside Care Center on M onday, March 20, 2006. She was born in Freedom on October 6, 1917, daught er of the late Leo and Adriana (Arnoldussen) Schommer. Hazel was a reside nt of Appleton for most of her life and worked at St. Elizabeth Hospit al as a L.P.N. for 23 years, retiring in 1980. She was a longtime memb er of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a 40-year member of the Secular Lay Fran ciscan (Third order), and a member of the Monte Alverno Retreat Guild.Hazel is survived by her brother, Ray (Betty) Schommer, Darboy; sisters: F rances (Tom) Thompson, Canyon Lake, CA; Betty Coppus, Little Chute; Anna M ae De Coster, Freedom; sisters-in-law: Helen Schommer and Marcy Seidl; a nd many nieces, nephews and god-children.She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother Leo Jr., infant s ister Eileen; brothers, John and Merle; sister, Gladys (Henry) Anschult z; and brothers-in-law: Charles Coppus and Mark De Coster.The funeral liturgy will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2006, at S T. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 W. Lawrence St., Appleton, with Fr. Larry A bler officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 3 p.m. unt il the time of the service. Burial will be at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Freed om. Memorials in Hazel's name may be given to Leaven, 516 West 6th St., Ap pleton, WI 54911.The family extends a special thank you to Parkside Care Center and to Hear tland Hospice for their compassionate care of Hazel.
