The 22 year-old Bowen went to sleep Tuesday night with the rest of t he family, but he did not rise in the morning. A family member decid ed to wake him at approximately 12:30 p.m., only to find that he was not b reathing. Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson says that while the death of such a y oung man is unusual, there are not signs of fold play. "The death of a 22-year-old man is somewhat puzzling" said Wilson, "b ut there is absolutely no information or evidence to suggest anything b ut natural death". Topeka pathologist Erick Mitchell performed the autopsy this morning, w ith the results to be revealed later today. Mitchell is reputed to be o ne of the best pathologists in the state, a fact that reassures Wilson. " The passing of such a young man is a tragic event, especially when the re is no obvious reason," said Wilson, "but we hope to have answers soo n, not just for ourselves, but for the family as well." Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funer al Home with Captain Don Tekautz of The Salvation Army officiating.
