  Heiting, Jerome A. "Rom y"Jerome A."Romy" Heiting, of Kaukauna, died Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at S t. Elizabeth Hospital due to complications of emphysema. He was 80. Jerome was born in Kaukauna to the late Henry and Josephine (Vander Loop) Heiting. Jerome served with the US Navy during World War II and was a memb er of the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258, Little Chute. He married Dolores De Koch on July 1, 1948, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. Jerome was a superintendent in the bag department at the Thilmany Mill, retiring after 43 years of service. After Thilmany's Jerome was a consultant for various mills when setting up bag departments. He was a past pre sident of the Quarter Century Club and a member of the Thilmany Manageme nt Club. Jerome was a man of action and was never one to sit and watch. He never hesitated to pitch in where help was needed. In addition to bu ilding his own home and a cottage on Crane Lake, Jerome constructed the ho mes of numerous friends and relatives.He was an avid sportsman, hunting in earlier years and fishing througho ut his life. He also loved to golf and was a past member of the Fox Vall ey Golf Club and Nicolet Country Club. Jerome was proud to have achieved t hree holes in one. He was a skilled woodworker and a life long member of H oly Cross Church. Following retirement, Jerome and Dolores had the pleasu re of wintering in Florida for many years.Jerome is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dolores; four sons: Tom (Ann ), Punta Gorda, FL; Jeff (Debbie), Appleton; Scott (Mary Kay), Kaukauna; a nd Dave (Mary), Little Chute; eight grandchildren: Ryan (Kacey), Kevin, Ju stin, Jarrett, Travis, Andrea, Amanda and Jackson; three great- grandchild ren: Brenda, Sierra and Dustin; sisters and brothers-in-law: Lorraine (Bil l) Lom, Agnes Heiting, Jane Heiting, Mary De Koch, Eleanor De Koch and Da ve Andres.In addition to his parents, Jerome was preceded in death by a grandson, Al an Scott Heiting; five siblings: Eugene, Richard and Melvin (Frances) Heit ing, Eunice Wilcox and Shirley Andres; and brothers and sisters-in-law: T ed (Ruth), Charles and Al De Koch.The Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2006, at Holy Cro ss Catholic Church, Kaukauna with the Rev. Marty Fox officiating. The fami ly will receive friends directly at the church Saturday after 8 a.m. unt il the time of Mass. The Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258 will condu ct Military Rites immediately following Mass. Committal Holy Cross Cemeter y. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.The Heiting family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at S t.
