My favorite place to find maps is from the collection stored at the Golda Meir Library at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. They have some very detailed maps of Europe acquired from the post World War I Peace Conference at Versailles 1918-1919.

They also are home to the maps of the American Geographical Society.
