ROMANESCO   ROMENESCO ROMANESKO ROMENESKO

The descendants of Joseph Romenesco and Theodora Philipsen

    Joseph Romenesco and Theodora Philipsen immigrated to the United States with 4 of their 5 children in 1854. Their eldest son Joseph was already married and had a family of his own. His descendants can still be found living in the Netherlands today.

Until I complete the research and Family Group portion of my book on the Romenesko descendants, I will list here a privatized report of their descendants.

When I began my genealogy research in 1997, I was fortunate enough to acquire the genealogy work on the Romenesko family that had been done by Peter and Els (Elizabeth) Romonesco. They had traced about 1800 descendants of the Romenesko family.

Peter Romonesco lives in Mierlo in the province of Noord Brabrant, Netherlands and is my 4th cousin once removed. He is a descendant of Petrus Romanesco (1808-1892) who was a brother to my  3rd Great Grandfather Joseph Romenesco (1799-1862) who emigrated from the Netherlands with his wife and 5 of their 6 children. Joseph's siblings and his eldest son Stephanus Romenesko (1824-1899) remained in the Netherlands to work and raise their own families.

I have spent many hours, days, months and years adding to Peter and Els work, writing letters, researching vital records and talking to distant cousins, and as of June 2005, I now have 9448 descendants!  I have never met them in person, but I owe them a big THANK YOU for providing me with such a well done "foundation" from which I was able to build on.

In July 2005 Peter and Els started their own website on their family genealogy, which can be found at this web page address;

ROMONESCO ROMANESCO ROMENESKO  http://www.uwstamboomonline.nl/passie/sites/index.php?kid=1207

Their web site is "under construction" and current most of it is only in Dutch, but the English pages should be added soon.

The descendants of Giacomo Antonio Romanesco

My Romenesko family research has taken me as far back as  Giacomo Antonio Romanesco who was born sometime before 1717 probably in ITALY. He was the father of Maria Catherina Romanesco who was born February 5, 1731 in Pollegio, SWITZERLAND and Stefano Romanesco. We know Stefano Romanesco married Maria Agata Imperadore on March 4, 1756 also in Pollegio, Switzerland. This report is a listing of all the known descendants, excluding the descendants of Joseph Romenesco.
