Obituary:
New London - Shirlee Mae Beyer, age 87, New London, died peacefully on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at ThedaCare Appleton following a brief illness. Shirlee was born on August 22, 1930, daughter of the late Frank and Ella (Zielke) Cumber. On November 13, 1951, she married Alfred Beyer. Shirlee lived in New London most of her life. She spent her working life as a caregiver. She enjoyed doing word puzzles, crafts, bingo, but most important to her, was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Shirlee is survived by her children: LaRaine (Jim) Christian, Larry (Roxanne) Beyer, Dorothy (Don) Clegg, Evelyn (Tom) Ruppel, Kenny Beyer, Kathy (Bob) Brown, Paul (Lori) Beyer; grandchildren: Chris, Jaime, Travis, Scott, Bob, Brett, Stacey, Kyle, Lindsey, Josh and step-grandchildren: Michael and Jake; 26 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter due in October and, special friend, Russ Otto.
Shirlee was preceded in death by her parents, many brothers & sister and a granddaughter, Traci (Beyer) Langenhuizen.
The funeral service for Shirlee will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London. Rev. William Heiges will be officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery in New London.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at New London and Appleton ThedaCare hospitals for their compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
