    Mrs. Clifford Vanevenhoven W. 7th St., has received the Purple Heart insignia which was awarded her husband, Pfc. Clifford Vanevenhoven, was wounded in France July 4. He is currently recovering in a hospital in England. He entered the service December, 1942 and went overseas September, 1943.

    Pfc. Clifford Vanevenhoven was honorably discharged from the Army September 20. He is entitled to wear the American defense service ribbon, American theater ribbon, European-African-middle east theater ribbon with four battle stars, Bronze service arrowhead, good conduct medal, Purple Heart, combat infantry badge, glider badge and presidential unit citation.

    Obituary:
    Vanevenhoven, Clifford W., "Zunk", Kimberly, Age 85, passed away at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna on Monday, December 15, 2 003. He was born to the late William and Mary (Kerkoff) Vanevenhoven on Ap ril 1, 1918. Cliff was a graduate of Kaukauna High School in 1938 and w as active in sports. He married Gertrude Donnermeyer at St. Mary Cathol ic Church, Kaukauna, on June 26, 1941. They enjoyed 58 years of marriag e. She preceded him in death on March 25, 2000. Cliff served in the Unit ed States Army during World War II in the 82nd and 101st Airborne division s. He was involved in the Battle at Normandy and the Battle of the Bul ge in Belgium. Cliff was presented the Purple Heart. After the war, Cli ff and Gertrude moved to Kimberly where he worked for Kimberly Clark and M idtec Paper for 35 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Quart er Century Club at Kimberly Clark. Cliff was a proud member of Holy Name C atholic Church. As an avid sports fan, Cliff was involved in his children 's and grandchildren's sports activities. He also loved to watch the Packe rs and Brewers. Golfing, Fishing and playing sheepshead were also favori te activities.
    Cliff is survived by his children: Lee (Judith) Vanevenhoven of Combined L ocks, Dennis (Janet) Vanevenhoven of Appleton and Jerry (Linda) Vanevenhov en of Kaukauna; grandchildren: Jay (Tammy) Vanevenhoven of New London, Cor ey (Dana) Vanevenhoven of Darboy, Scott (Brooke) Vanevenhoven of Ripon, Sa ra (Jeff) Radloff of Ripon, Adam Vanevenhoven of New York, Alan Vanevenhov en of Connecticut and Ryan Vanevenhoven of Kaukauna; six great grandchildr en; sisters-in-law: Pat Vanevenhoven of Menasha, Sue Vanevenhoven and Elai ne Donnermeyer of Kaukauna, and Clara Markgraf of Lodi; brothers-in-law: L eo (Janice) Donnermeyer of Kimberly, and Robert (Kate) Donnermeyer of Oshk osh.
    Cliff is preceded in death by his wife Gertrude, his parents; brothers: Wa lter, Elmer, Raymond, Lester, Wilfred, Sylvester and infant brother Josep h; sister-in-law: Ella Zellmer; and brothers-in-law; Michael, Norbert, Jo hn and Walter Donnermeyer.
    The funeral liturgy will be at 6 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2003, at HO LY NAME OF JESUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 East Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly, wi th Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Friends will be received at the chur ch from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at 10 a. m. on Tuesday, December 23, at Holy Name Cemetery. A military honors servi ce will be conducted at the cemetery by the William Verhagen Post of the A merican Legion, Kimberly.
    The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at St. P aul Home, especially Poppy Path, for their excellent, compassionate care.
    A memorial fund in Cliff's name is being established.
