    Obituary:
    Frank J. Van Lanen Wrightstown, WisconsinAge 81, was found dead in his driveway Wednesday morning. Mr. Van Lanen was born September 4, 1887 in the Town of Preble. He farmed in the Wrightstown area until ten years ago when he moved to the Village of Wrightstown. He was a member of th e Holy Name Society and the Catholic Order of Forsters and a past treasurer of the Town of Wrightstown.Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Clem [Colette] Vande Hey, Kaukauna; Mrs. Norbert [Mary] Nelessen, Kimberly; Sister Ann Jude C.S.A., former Roseann, of Nicaragua; five sons, Rueben, Kaukauna; Ralph, Green Bay; Norbert, Little Chute; Francis , Greenleaf; William, Michigan City, Indiana; four sisters, Mrs. Anna Lamers, Mrs. Alvira McDaniel, both Kaukauna; Mrs. Mathilda Arnoldussen, Phoenix, Arizona; Mrs. Peter [Susan] Verbeten, Kimberly; one half brother, Howard Verbeten, Kaukauna ; 34 grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.His wife preced him in death two and a half years ago. Friends may call at the De Wane Funeral Home, Wrightstown after 2:30 p.m. Friday. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning 10:30 at St . Paul's Catholic Church with the Rev. Cyril Kabat officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

    Obituary:
    Colette Nytes, of Kaukauna, age 93, died on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at St. Paul Home. She was born on April 8, 1914 in Wrightstown, the daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Vanderhyden) Van Lanen. On June 3, 1937 she married Clem Vandehey and he preceded her in death on January 12, 1982. Colette and Herbert Nytes were married on August 29, 1983 and he preceded her in death on May 10, 1996. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, a member of the Altar Society and sang in the church choir. Colette was a crossing guard and enjoyed sewing, painting, crocheting.
    She is survived by her daughter, Joanne (Tony) Grosso; stepson, Ron (Mary Kay) Nytes; grandchildren: Annette, Steven, Michael, John, Susie, Lisa, Brenda and Michael; sisters: Mary (Bob) Kessler and Sister Ann Jude and brother: William (Mary Lou) Van Lanen. Colette is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her husbands, brothers: Ruben, Ralph, Norbert, Francis and Eugene Van Lanen; daughter, Ethel Vander Burgt and a granddaughter Michelle Vander Burgt.
    The family would like to give thanks to St. Paul Manor for the wonderful living environment they provided for Colette during the 10 years she lived there and to the many residents she called her friends.
    The funeral liturgy for Colette will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5-7 p.m. and at the Church on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of mass.

    Mary A. (Nelessen) Kessler, 95, formerly of Kimberly, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Sunday, October 20, 2013. She was born October 28, 1917, daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Vander Heiden) Van Lanen. On May 30, 1940, Mary married Norbert Nelessen, and he preceded her in death on July 10, 1970. Then on November 24, 1976, she married Robert Kessler, and he preceded her in death on May 26, 2007. Mary was active in many different organizations including the Pierre Post #2778 of Appleton, a life member of the DAV Auxiliary of Appleton, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit to the William Verhagen Post #60 of Kimberly and she was also a member of the Fox Cities Chapter of the military order of the Cooties #29 of Appleton.
    Mary is lovingly survived by her children: Cletus (Dianne) Nelessen, Donna Nelessen, Luella (Tom) Opsteen, Sharon (Charles) Mikkelsen, Cindy (Paul) Sanders and Carla (Paul) German; 13 grandchildren: Jeff (Michele) Nelessen, Brad (Katie) Van Cuyk, Ryun (Denise) Van Cuyk, Tara (Jon) Van Dyke, Aaron (Karmen) Opsteen, Crystal Lehmann, Ed Mc Amoil, Dawn Mc Amoil, Sara Mikkelsen, Ben Sanders, Jesse Sanders, Hannah German and Leah German; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sister Anne Jude Van Lanen, CSA; a brother, Bill (Mary Lou) Van Lanen; sisters and brothers-in-law: Dolores (Gene) Van Camp, Helen Diedrich, Dolly (Dale) Meulemans, Art Vosters, Ceil, Bernice, Marian and Rita Nelessen. She is also survived by Bob's children: Pete, Mildred and Mark (Vicki) Kessler, his 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
    Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; a daughter, Sister Kathleen Nelessen, CSA; a granddaughter and her husband, Anne and Terry Reichardt; a step-son, Paul Kessler; a sister, Colette and five brothers: Reuben, Ralph, Norbert, Francis and Eugene; and many brothers and sisters-in-laws and other family members and friends.
    Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2013, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 410 Wallace Street, Combined Locks, with Fr. Andrew Kysely officiating. Interment will be in Holy Spirit Cemetery, Kimberly. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
    Mary's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Francis Terrace, for your love and the wonderful care you gave to their mother.

    Van Lanen, Francis P., "Fra n" KaukaunaAge 79, was called home to the Lord on Tuesday, April 8, 2003. He was bo rn to the late Francis and Catherine (VanderHeiden) Van Lanen in Wrightsto wn on July 22, 1923. On May 1, 1947, Fran married Beatrice Bruecker at S t. Patrick Catholic Church in Askeaton. She preceded him in death in Octob er, 1971. On August 4, 1973, he married Elizabeth "Becky" Van Thull-Clanc y, also at St. Patrick Catholic Church. She, too, preceded him in dea th in October, 1993.Fran and his new wife Beatrice began dairy farming in Askeaton. He farm ed for nearly 30 years. He was a progressive farmer, one of the first to i mplement a new concept of milking cows — the milking parlor. He and his fa cilities were instrumental in the development of innovative material and f orage handling systems. After retiring from farming, he worked for Hoida L umber Company in Green Bay, followed by Ariens Corporation in Brillion, wh ere he retired. After retiring and moving to Green Bay, he remained tempor arily employed as a lawn maintenance technician until the age of 72. Aft er selling his home in Green Bay, he took up residence at St. Paul Man or in Kaukauna in May of 2002.Besides being an avid Packer fan, his intere sts included membership in various church organizations, singing in chur ch choirs, and carpentry. Anyone close to Fran knew of his passion and ten acity for playing cards. He was unbeatable at sheepshead and poker.Fran is survived by eight children: David (Clarene "Reenie") Van Lan en of Madison, Anna (Bob) Giese of Sheboygan, Michael (Sharon) Van Lan en of Darboy, Gerard (Cindy) Van Lanen of De Pere, Victoria (Mike) Wi di of Greenville, Anthony "Tony" (Sally) Van Lanen of Trinidad, CO, Lee V an Lanen of Whitelaw, and Tara Van Lanen of Minneapolis, MN; four stepchil dren: Patrick (Lana) Clancy, Debbie Clancy, Tim (Gina) Clancy, and Joe Cla ncy; 28 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and two on the way; a bro ther: Bill (Mary Lou) Van Lanen; three sisters: Collette Nytes, Mary (Bo b) Kessler, Sister Anne Jude; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Van Lanen. Fr an is further survived by his very special friend Vonnie Wege. He is al so survived by numerous other family and friends.Fran is preceded in death by his four brothers: Rueben (Marie), Ralph, Nor bert (Mayme), and Eugene Van Lanen; and a brother-in-law, Herb Nytes.The funeral liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 200 3, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 7815 St. Patrick Church Road, Askeato n, with Fr. Allen Geiser and Fr. Charles Brooks officiating. Friends wi ll be received at the Fargo Funeral Home in Kaukauna on Friday, April 1 1, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. a nd at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the liturg y. She was born February 12, 1938 in Green Bay, da ughter of Clement and Colette (VanLanen) Vande Hey. On September 1, 1958 Ethel married James V an Der Burgt at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna. The couple resided in Kaukauna their e ntire married lives. Ethel enjoyed poetry and bible studies. She was a very social person, she lov ed people. Ethel was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Kaukauna. Survivors include her husba nd of 42 years, James, Kaukauna; their children: Lisa (Ken) Kelly, Pembine, Wisconsin; Brenda V an Der Burgt and special friend, Pamela Davis, Tampa, Florida; Michael Van Der Burgt and speci al friend, Michelle Priebe, Appleton; four grandchildren: Misty, Tristan, Taylor and Miranda Kell y; her mother, Colette (Vande Hey) Nytes, Kaukauna; a sister and brother-in-law, Joanne (Dr. Anton e) Grosso, Underwood, Washington; a step-brother and sister-in-law, Ron (Mary Kay) Nytes, Ka ukauna; numerous nieces and nephews.     Obituary:
    Sister Kathleen Catherine Nelessen, CSA died peacefully at Nazareth Court and Center on Friday April 6th 2012 at 3:45 PM. Sister Kathy was born at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton WI on November 29, 1941. She was the first of seven children born to Mary (Van Lanen) Nelessen and Norbert A. Nelessen.
    Sister Kathy entered the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes on September 10, 1964 and made Profession of vows on August 15, 1967. She graduated from St Agnes School of Nursing in December 1968 and ministered as a nurse for the next twenty-two years at various locations including: St. Agnes Hospital, St. Clare Hospital in Monroe, St John Rest Home in Victoria Kansas, St Anthony Hospital, Hospice of the Plains and at St. John Rest Home in Hays Kansas, and the Chippewa Health Center in Lac du Flambeau, WI.
    She served in leadership as a Regional Coordinator for eight years and ministered at St. Francis Home in Spiritual Care for the last five years. For twenty four and a half years, Sister Kathy struggled with cancer yet still continued to minister to those in need with joy and compassion.
    She was preceded in death by her father, Norbert Nelessen, her step father Robert Kessler, and her niece Anne and husband Terry.
    Sister Kathy is survived by her mother Mary, brother Cletus and wife Dianne, her sisters Donna Nelessen, Luella and husband Tom Opsteen, Sharon and husband Chuck Mikkelsen, Cindy and husband Paul Sanders, Carla and husband Paul German and numerous nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her Aunt, Sister Anne Jude Van Lanen CSA, and the Sisters of St. Agnes, with whom she lived, prayed and ministered.
    Visitation will be from 2:30 pm until 7:00 pm with a prayer service at 3:00 pm on Monday April 9th at St Francis Home Chapel, Fond du Lac, WI.
    On Tuesday April 10th, visitation is from 10:00 am to 11:15 am followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am at Holy Family Church, 271 4th St. Way, Fond du Lac, WI. A luncheon will follow.
    Memorials may be directed to the Sisters of St. Agnes Development Office, 320 County Road K, Fond du Lac, WI 54935.
    The Sisters of St. Agnes are grateful to the nurses and staff at Nazareth Court and Center and Hospice Hope for their care of Sister Kathy.

    Van Lanen, Mary JoMary Jo Van Lanen, 48, completed her journey May 12, 2003, at home surroun ded by her family and friends following a battle with cancer and Multip le Sclerosis. She was born Aug. 1, 1954, in Green Bay, to Ralph and Evel yn Van Lanen. Mary Jo was a Charter member of the N.E.W. Zoo Boosters. S he led a successful, full life including a love of photography and taki ng pictures of animals. This led to the creation of the Power of Pictur es Network (POPn) to help promote the N.E.W. Zoo.     Bridget Hagerty, 34, Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at St. Vincent Hospital. Born in San Antonio, Texas, she is the daughter of William Hagerty and Linda (Van Lanen) Jaloszynski. Bridget was a graduate of East High School, Class of 1990. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Bridget was employed at Moore Response Marketing and most recently was a student at the Wisconsin College of Cosmetology. Bridget had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family and soulmate, Rod. Bridget also enjoyed volleyball, swimming, and times spent in the sun.
    Survived by the love of her life, Rod Klarkowski; her father, William (Rhona) Hagerty, Green Bay; mother, Linda (David) Jaloszynski, Cedar Grove; two sisters, Melanie Hagerty, Green Bay; Erin Hagerty and her daughter, Aspen Marie Hagerty, Green Bay; maternal grandmother, Evelyn Van Lanen, Green Bay; uncles and aunts, Chuck Hagerty, Kathy Swanstrom, Joyce (Ken) Hoeft, Bev (Mark) Hendricks, Diane (Gary) Gierach, Judy (Steve) Fifrick, Paul (Lisa) Van Lanen, Joseph Lombardo, Linda Van Lanen; many cousins and special friends.

    Sam Van Lanen 22, De Pere, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning, September 9, 2007. He was born September 14, 1984, in Green Bay to Gerard Van Lanen and the late Annette Martens. Sam graduated from West De Pere High School in 2003. He was employed at Festival Foods in De Pere. Sam enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and above all else he enjoyed spending time with his son Cameron.
    He is survived by his son Cameron; his father, Gerard Van Lanen, De Pere; his step-father, Jeff Martens, De Pere; his siblings: Kelly (Patrick) Waeghe, Howard; Jacob (Jessica) Van Lanen, De Pere; Saul (Allison) Van Lanen, De Pere; Andrew Martens, De Pere; grandparents, Howard and Harriet Heimke, Brillion.
    He was preceded in death by his mom Annette Martens, his grandparents Francis and Beatrice Van Lanen, and his Uncle Mike Heimke.
    Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2007, at RYAN FUNERAL HOME (305 N Tenth St, De Pere).
