  Utschig, Delores A., "Del" , 345 West Highland Park Avenue AppletonAge 78, died Christmas Eve, at her residence, with her family by her sid e. She was born July 4, 1925, to the late Arthur and Adeline (Richards) Gn irk, in Wausau. Del married Glenn Utschig on June 14, 1947; he preceded h er in death on July 31, 1993. She was a Past President of the Ladies of Sa cred Heart, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the VFW Auxiliar y, the Catholic Order of Foresters Ladies and had been a volunteer at S t. Elizabeth Hospital.Del is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Rex Wegner, Mid dleton, WI; Laurie and Steve Schimmers, Appleton; three sons and two daugh ters-in-law, John and Marion Utschig, Winneconne; Tony and Hope Utschig, A ppleton; Allen Utschig, Appleton; 15 grandchildren, Cara Thompson, April G adola, Melissa Utschig, Troy Marine, Amy Putzer, Angela Derringer, Shei la Hungerford, Sonja Wood, Jolene Schimmers, Stacy Saunders, Lisa Zillge s, Craig Zillges, Terry Zillges, Heather Wegner and Robin McGinnis; 16 gre at grandchildren; her step mother-in-law, Margaret Utschig, New Holstei n; three sisters, Evelyn Krueger, Luella Ellis and Arlene "Dolly" (Bob) Os borne, all of Wausau; two sisters-in-law, Joanne Gnirk, Minnesota; Maxi ne Blob, Appleton; a special family friend, Debbie Koonce, Omro; and ma ny other wonderful and dear friends.She was preceded in death by four sisters, Joyce Rockman, Jeanette Derbic k, Arlyle Flauger and Eleanor Endl; three brothers, Arthur and Wayne Gni rk and Lester Norton.The Funeral Liturgy for Delores will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, Decemb er 29, 2003, at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 East Fremont Street, wi th Father Robert Karuhn officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery .Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-9 pm, Sunday, December 28, 20 03 and on Monday at the church from 9:30 am, until the time of the servic e. There will be an American Legion and VFW Auxiliary visitation at 7: 30 pm and a Parish Prayer and Scripture Service at 8:00 pm Sunday. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.A very special thank you to Dr. Roger H. Nguyen for his services during t he last few hours of Delores' life.We also wish to thank Dr. Jack Anderson and Cherry Meadow Hospice for the ir assistance.
