Ahrens, Delores M. Appleton Age 82, died Saturday, December 21, 2002 at Century Oaks Residential Care Community in Darboy. Delores was born on January 25, 1920 to the late Joseph and Antoinette (Halverson) Monty . She resided in the Appleton area for most of her life. On June 29, 1938, Delores married William Ahrens at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bear Creek. The couple enjoyed over 60 years together before his death in 1999. Delores loved to work in her garden, especially her strawberry patch. She also loved riding her snow mobile, fishing, and playing cards with her family and friends.
She will be missed by her three sons: Jim (Alice) Ahrens, Combined Locks; Rick Ahrens, Lena; and Bill (Tina) Ahrens, Appleton; 15 grandchildren. 21 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Adeline (Harold) Habeck, Binghamton; Edna Terrain, New London; and Lorraine (Vernon) Spence, Hollandale, Wisconsin; a daughter-in-law, Dianne Stronach, Black Creek; four sisters-in-law: Betty Monty, Milwaukee; Betty Monty, Kimberly; Claris Ahrens, Appleton; and Martina Ahrens, Mountain. Further survived by many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Delores is preceded in death by her husband William, her parents, a son John, five brothers: Earl, Lester, Raymond, Reynold, and Llewellyn.
Friends may call at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2331 E. Lourdes Drive, Appleton, on Friday, December 27, from 3pm until the time of service. Funeral Mass 5pm with the Rev. Harold Berryman officiating. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Heartland Hospice Nurses, Heidi, Ruth, and Bill, and to the staff at Century Oaks Margaret House for the kindness, care, and concern shown to Delores.
