- Irene Wildenberg, nee Pritzl, age 89, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Carolina Manor with her family by her side following a long illness. She was born July 28, 1922 to the late William and Caroline (Spatchek) Pritzl. On May 22, 1945 Irene married Urban G. Wildenberg. The couple enjoyed 53 years of marriage together prior to his death on March 11, 1999. Irene was the center of her family. She was an amazing and wonderful mother, loving grandmother and great grandmother. She gave her unconditional love and support to everyone she knew and accepted them for who they were. Irene enjoyed bowling, golfing, competing in horseshoes and playing cards with her friends. She loved the outdoors and spending time on Clear Lake in Manitowish Waters. Irene was an avid fisherman, teaching the grandchildren how to catch and clean "the big ones". She also loved spending her winters in Destin, Florida. Irene was an active member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Combined Locks.
She is survived by her children: Glen (Cindy), Winchester, Wayne, Racine, Lynn (Gary) Luckow, Appleton, and Steve, Combined Locks; 8 grandchildren: Gary (Patti) Luckow Jr., Neenah, Tami (Brian) Olesen, Appleton, Toni (Steve) Schult, Greenville, Shelly (Dwight) Karrow, Milwaukee, Dawn Wildenberg, Appleton, Bill (Cher) Wildenberg, California, Stacie (Eric) Zdroik, Suamico, and Abby Wildenberg, Menasha; 5 great grandchildren: Cami Mobley-Wildenberg, Anna and Matthew Olesen, Chloe Wildenberg, and Peyton Lange; twin sisters: Emily Nate, Brillion and Elaine Brennan, New Holstein; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Pritzl, Brillion. She is further survived by her husband's sister-in-law, Ann Wildenberg, Kimberly, nieces and nephews, and wonderful neighbors and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Urban, 2 brothers: Jerome and Leo, and a sister, Lenora Benzschawel.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at ST. PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 E. Wallace Street, Combined Locks with Fr. Andrew Kysely officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Friends will be received directly at church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna is assisting the family. 766-2099.
