- Barbara Ann DuFrane (nee Argust), age 72, of Black Creek, passed away peacefully at Appleton Medical Center with her family by her side. Barb was born in Appleton on March 28, 1942, to the late Lyman and Delores "Billie" (Bleir) Argust. She graduated from Appleton High School with the class of 1960. On September 2, 1961, she was united in marriage to Roger DuFrane. Barb and Roger have enjoyed 53 years together. Barb owned and operated R&B Stables and was co-owner of the family business, Fox Valley Overhead Door. She devoted a lot of her time to her beloved horses, enjoyed working in her flower garden, reading, and adored all of her pets.
Barb is survived by her loving husband, Roger, Black Creek; daughter, Tracy (Allan Jr.) Eastman, Neenah; four sons: Tim (Sandy) DuFrane, New London, Terry (Chris) DuFrane, Hortonville, Tom DuFrane, Appleton, and Ted (Anne) DuFrane, Appleton; 10 grandchildren: Mike (Jill), AJ (Tamara), Max, Caitlin (Ray), Alex, Aly (Dustin), Roger, Emily, Samuel, and Thomas; five great grandchildren: Jordy, Reese, Hadleigh, Kailey, Finley; two sisters: Sue (Dan) Weyers, Appleton and Nancy (Pat) O'Brien, Woodstock, GA; 3 sisters-in-law: Janice (Gordon) Houlihan, Appleton, Mary DuFrane, Kaukauna, and Sandy (Russ) Hoppe, Appleton; and brother-in-law, David (Yvonne) DuFrane, Townsend. She is further survived by nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Christopher, and 2 brothers-in-law Dennis DuFrane and Tom DuFrane.
A memorial service will take place at 12 noon on Saturday, March 7, at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit at the funeral chapel on Saturday from 9 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Guenther and his staff for all their compassionate care given to Barb.
