- Thomas H. (Tom) Emmer, "Bubbs", Kaukauna, age 66, died peacefully, Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Theda Clark Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born July 12, 1947 in Appleton, son of the late Howard and Helen (Reffke) Emmer. Tom graduated from Xavier High School in 1965. He was employed at Appleton Papers - Combined Locks retiring in 2002. In 1981, Tom married the former Jeanne Bongard in Kaukauna. The couple lived in the Kaukauna area their entire married lives. Tom enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and was an all around outdoorsman. Later in life, he also enjoyed winters in Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne (Bongard) and their 5 children: Christine (John) Wolf, Lisa (David) Carnot, Steven (Sara) Emmer, Mark (Ann) Kirsch and Anne (Mark) Christopher; his ten grandchildren: Chelsea Friday and Chloe Friday, Kaisha Homman and Krysta Carnot, Caleb Emmer and Saige Emmer, Maxwell (fiancée Stormie) Kirsch and Lauren Kirsch, Matthew Christopher and Emily Christopher; great-granddaughter, Ava Anderson; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law: Rita (Ted) Ohlrogge and Carol (Ron) Miller. He is further survived by his first wife and the mother of his children, Barbara "Sparky" Hoffman; numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The Memorial Mass for Tom will be at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna. Family and friends will be received on Thursday directly at church from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Paul Elder Services Therapy Department would be appreciated.
