- LaVon P. "Queenie" Wilson, 69, Appleton, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Oct. 31, 1939, the daughter of Walter and Ruth (Vanden Heuvel) Romenesko. LaVon married David Wilson on Aug. 22, 1959, at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Mackville. LaVon was a beautician and enjoyed volunteering at AMC, St. E's Hospital and the Citizens Law Enforcement Academy. She also loved the Packers and was an avid Brett Favre fan. LaVon was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by David, her husband of 50 years; six children, Vicky Lemke, DeDe (Tom) Ort, Roxy (Joe) Huettl, Pam (Brad) Zeman, David (Nikki) Wilson, Kim (Brad) Manteuffel; 20 grandchildren, Shelby and Austin Lemke, Erica, Tom, Matt and Drew Ort, Alisa and Taylor Becker, Mike Ort, Ariel and Bryce Zeman, Cal, Paige and Parker Wilson, Mason, Payton, Reece, Ella and Calli Manteuffel; one great-grandson, Gavin Ort; two sisters, Vera Hofacker and Jan (Ken) Frederickson; four brothers, DuWayne (Eve) Romenesko, Vernon (Karen) Romenesko, Bing Romenesko, Ivo (Lorene) Romenesko; a sister-in-law, Linda Romenesko. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Butch and Darrell Romenesko; grandson, Alex Manteuffel; sister-in-law, Kathy Romenesko; brother-in-law, Bill Hofacker; and nephews, Bud Hofacker, Gary Romenesko and Travis Romenesko.
A Mass of Celebration for LaVon will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, at St. Pius X Catholic Church (500 W. Marquette St.) with the Rev. Andrew Kysely officiating. Interment will be in St. Edward Cemetery, Mackville. Friends may visit the family at the church, Monday from 4 to 7: 30 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. There will also be visiting time Tuesday morning at church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass.
A memorial fund is being established.
