- Cletus H. Meyerhofer, "Clet", Town of Harrison, age 81, passed away on April 5, 2015, two days before his 82nd birthday, at his home with his family at his side. He was born on April 7, 1933 in the town of Harrison to the late Henry and Georgia (Thon) Meyerhofer Rochon. After he finished school he joined the U.S. Army before marrying Mary Ann Mahnke on December 26, 1953. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 and was a farmer for over 60 years. Cletus enjoyed sturgeon spearing, deer hunting, fishing, going to the casino, playing sheepshead and being in the tractor. Cletus was known by everyone for never having a crooked corn row.
Cletus is survived by his loving wife Mary Ann of 61 years; by eight children: Steve (Bev) Meyerhofer, Ruth (Bruce) Thompson, Mike Meyerhofer, John Meyerhofer, Bruce (Lori) Meyerhofer, Joyce (Tom) Harris, Dave Meyerhofer and Dan (Shelley) Meyerhofer. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren: Laura (Dave) Mayer, Sarah (Marc) Vandenhouten, Ryan Meyerhofer, Randy (Nicole) Thompson, Gary (Erica) Thompson, Janet (Cal) Harrell, Michael Jr. (Amy) Meyerhofer, Angie (John) Kerkenbush, Rachel Meyerhofer, Josh (Jessica) Meyerhofer, Matt Meyerhofer, Ben and Amber Meyerhofer, Ashley (Steve) Ropski, Adam Smet, Brooke and Andrew Meyerhofer, Erin and Mitch Meyerhofer and 14 great-grandchildren. Cletus is also survived by brothers: Paul (Mary) Meyerhofer, Pat (Anna) Rochon; in-laws Milton (Doris) Mahnke.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Joan, his father, Henry, mother and step-father, Georgia and James Rochon, brother and sister in-law, Glen and Betty Meyerhofer, sisters in-law: Barb Meyerhofer and Marlene Rochon and wife's parents, Gilbert and Hattie Mahnke.
The funeral service for Cletus will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at St. John-Sacred Heart Catholic Church, N369 Military, Sherwood with Fr. Michael Betley officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Boettcher Family Funeral Home 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday directly at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
Cletus's family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to daughter Joyce Harris for all the love and care given to Dad during his illness right to the end.
