  Walter Kappell, 61, died at 1:30 Friday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Malsavage, 331 W. Third Street, after an illness of seven months. Mr. Kappell was born in Illinois June 4, 1864, and has been a resident of Kaukauna for the past 28 years. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Fred Swanson of Chicago,, Mrs. John Malsavage and Mrs. Jos. Vils, of Kaukauna and nine grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday morning at nine o'clock at St. Mary's church and interment was in the parish cemetery. The pall bearers were Herman Schuman, Walter Langlois, George and Connie Giesbers, Jos. Reichel and Peter Tennessen. [Kaukauna Times (Kaukauna, Wisconsin), July 16, 1925, pg. 8]
