Nicholas Moehn - Chilton Times - December 18, 1909 Nicholas Moehn, one of the respected citizens of North Stockbridge, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs Andrew Schomisch, on December 7, 1909 at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 12 days. The deceased was born in Germany, December 25, 1832, and came to America in 1871, locating at Menominee Falls, Waukesha County, this state, where he remained a few years and then moved to the town of Stockbridge, where he resided until death called him to join his wife who died December 21, 1905. A few years ago he disposed of his farm to his son-in-law, Robert Dorn, and retired from active labor. Mr. Moehn was a hard working man who made a success of life. He was an excellent husband and father, a kind neighbor and was held in high esteem by those who knew him. He was a devout member of the Catholic church and his funeral which was held at St. Marys's Church at Stockbridge on Friday morning last was largely attended by his relatives and friends who deeply deplore his death. He is survived by two sons, John and Nicholas, of Milwaukee and six daughters, Mesdames Michael Kiefer, Andrew Schomisch, Robert Dorn of Stockbridge, Mrs Henry Shankey of Waldo, Mrs Michael Metz of Forest Junction, and Miss Agnes of Stockbridge.
